Submission: Getting it right: A new definition for NDIS Providers

AHPA has submitted a response to the Getting it right: A new definition for NDIS providers consultation, emphasising the central role of allied health professionals in delivering safe, high‑quality supports to NDIS participants.

The submission highlights AHPA’s support for including allied health services within the definition of an NDIS provider and calls for a genuinely risk‑proportionate regulatory model that recognises the extensive, pre‑existing regulation of the allied health workforce. AHPA recommends that future registration requirements for allied health providers be light‑touch. Failure to do so could drive providers out of the market and reduce access for participants to allied health services.
