Allied Health Professions Australia warmly congratulates Tracey Thomson on her appointment as the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing’s Chief Allied Health Officer.

“Allied Health Professions Australia is delighted to welcome Tracey into this critical national health leadership role,” AHPA Chief Executive Officer Bronwyn Morris-Donovan said.

“The Chief Allied Health Officer is a central position in public office when it comes to ensuring the expertise and perspectives of allied health professionals help shape national health and workforce policy.

“This appointment comes at a time of significant reform across the health sector, and AHPA is committed to supporting the Chief Allied Health Officer to further enable and integrate allied health professionals in settings where they are needed most, including health, aged care, disability and community settings.

“The Chief Allied Health Officer will also be vital in helping to bring forward the much-anticipated National Allied Health Workforce Strategy and driving its implementation so that it delivers meaningful, sustainable reform for the sector.

“AHPA looks forward to working very closely with Ms Thomson in this leadership role and building on our organisation’s strong and productive relationship with the Department.
