Joint statement in support of the inclusion of three new topics on gender, variations of sex characteristics, and sexual orientation variables into the 2026 Census

AHPA have joined several organisations to endorse a joint statement calling for the inclusion of three new topics on gender, variations of sex characteristics, and sexual orientation variables into the 2026 Census.

Health Service Daily have also written an article, highlighting the statement’s calls for meaningful inclusion of relevant census data for LGBTIQ+ populations, and the impact of the absence of such data on health policy, programs and services.
