Allied Health Professionals Day 2025: Recognising the Everyday Practice of Allied Health

Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) invites all Australians to join in celebrating the contributions of allied health professionals on Allied Health Professions Day 2025.

This Allied Health Professionals Day is an opportunity to recognise the vital role of allied health professionals across Australia – a diverse and skilled workforce delivering evidence-based, person-centred and multidisciplinary care that strengthens every part of our health system.

Every day, allied health professionals contribute to people’s health and wellbeing in hospitals, community services, aged care, schools, disability support, and social care. Their work supports recovery, independence, participation and quality of life across all stages of life.

As the second-largest health workforce, allied health professionals bring essential expertise to prevention, treatment and rehabilitation. From enabling children to reach developmental milestones, to supporting older Australians to live well and independently, allied health underpins the care Australians rely on.

“Allied health professionals are integral to the way our health, disability, ageing, education, and social services systems function,” said AHPA CEO, Bronwyn Morris-Donovan. “Their evidence-based, person-centred practice is key to improving outcomes and building a more sustainable health system.”

Despite the breadth and impact of their contribution, much of the allied health workforce operates quietly and collaboratively – working with individuals, families and communities to achieve lasting, practical outcomes.

As the peak body representing Australia’s allied health sector, AHPA is proud to celebrate the breadth, expertise and impact of the allied health workforce.

Join us in marking Allied Health Professionals Day 2025 – share your stories, celebrate your teams, and help shine a light on the difference allied health makes every day.
