To access videos and other resources about My Health Record and how it can be used to share information:

  1. Visit the dedicated allied health section of the My Health Record website via My Health Record for healthcare providers

  2. Scroll to Education and training, expand your area of practice and choose Allied Health.

Allied health professionals can access their client’s My Health Record information via two methods:

  1. The National Provider Portal

    or a

  2. Conformant Clinical Information System (CIS).

Access via the National Provider Portal will mean:

  • You can only view information others have entered

  • You will need to download any information you need to save into your CIS or other information management system and save it there manually

  • You will need to utilise the portal in a separate browser to all other digital tools you’re using

  • You require a separate log in to other clinical information management systems you’re using.

Access via conformant software will mean:

  • You can both view and upload (enter) information

  • You can access My Health Record from within your CIS without a separate log in or browser

  • Client information you access can be automatically incorporated into your CIS.

You can see which CIS are already My Health Record conformant via the Registers. Some of the providers on this list will also be My Health Record conformant in the near future.

Ask any software vendors you work with when they plan to become My Health Record conformant if they are not already. Otherwise in the future you’ll need to change software systems to be able to upload information to My Health Record.

Once you have decided via which method you will access My Health Record you can utilise the relevant resources below to do so.
