One of AHPA's key priorities is to ensure that the voice of allied health professionals are heard on issues affecting healthcare in Australia. Allied health professionals represent 20% of the country's health care workforce, a sizeable sector of the industry. Most Australians are treated by an allied health professional at some stage and, with the increasing incidence of chronic disease, this will grow.
AHPA is frequently requested to supply representation on a range of committees, organisations and other bodies to provide the allied health perspective. AHPA members take these roles very seriously and work hard to ensure that the allied health view is properly represented.
